Vision

The primary objective of CCI is to host the Annual Durga Festival in Cincinnati. Durga Festival is celebrated during September-October of every year on an auspicious day according to the Indian lunar calendar. Celebrated to mark the victory of Goddess Durga over the tyrant Buffalo-demon Mahishashura, and that of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana, the Durga festival over the years, has become the principal annual festival celebrated by the Bengali speaking population (Bengalees) all over the world. Through its celebration and associated activities, CCI will promote the cultural and educational activities of Bengal and Eastern India, especially amongst the second and later generation immigrants of Indian origin, foster a spirit of friendship and cooperation between its members through social activities, and highlight the cultural heritage of India, especially Bengal and Eastern India. CCI is organized exclusively for cultural, charitable, educational and scientific purposes by supporting networking activities through summer camps, educational lectures as well as cultural initiatives such as training for performing arts.
